The history of Sar Shalom begins in 1994 when HaShem asked
Rabbi Galen and Bobbie Weinberg to  pray for the Messianic
Community in the Eugene/Springfield area. The  Lord revealed,
through others that there had been a Messianic Congregation Beth
Messiah, but nothing was going at that time, that a  place was needed
for the Messianics thus Beth Echad was born. Beth Echad was to
be A House of Unity, A House of One. A place where Jew and
Non-Jew could come to celebrate Messiah, pray for one another,
share  in His mercy and to study. Beth Echad belonged to HaShem
and HaShem  would build the community, according to his word. We
were to be open to all that HE would send.

At our first meeting there were four (4) of us. Many have come and
gone since that evening; one to Israel, one to the nations, others back
to  their community or to other areas of ministry. In 1999 under new
leadership Rabbi Bradford Beth Echad slowly evolved into a more
traditional liturgical Shul, it slowly became a place where Jews could
worship to retain their liturgy backgrounds and Non Jews learn about
Jewish customs and traditions. HaShem continues to build HIS
House and now as Beth Echad has become Sar Shalom  a community
that is Sephardic in flavor, but in a conservative setting under the
leadership of Rabbi Michael and Maria Zimmerman who seek to
restore a close relationship to God and restore His people back to
Himself.

Praise to the Prince of Peace (Sar Shalom), we look to HaShem for
HIS continued  leading through His Holy Spirit. Sar Shalom is to
be a place where Jews and Christians can learn from one another, for
Jews who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah and who desire to retain
a Jewish liturgy can have a place to worship and where interfaith
couples are given an opportunity to worship together without
compromise or coercion, but seek only truth (Emet) and a strong
relationship with God Sar Shalom is still a House of Unity (Echad),
seeks to create one community, one house under one God Hashem
and one Messiah (Mashiach). Everyone is welcomed no matter what
your level of observence and religious affliation or background.

Sar Shalom is a place of worship where both Jewish and Non Jewish
believers can worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and
celebrate the redemption brought to the world by Yeshua the true
Messiah, who was promised by God through his Torah and his
Prophets, in a Torah-observant/Biblical way and most of all Messiah
centered. Also to bring both Jewish and Non Jewish people alike to
the gift of salvation provided by Yeshua's perfect sacrifice
.
